A BETTER LIFE ANIMAL SANCTUARY
York, WA
Set on a 200-acre property near York, ABLAS is the forever home to many lucky animals who are now living out the rest of their lives comfortably, free from harm and with all the love and care possible!
The sanctuary’s aim is to find new homes, provide care and rehabilitation for animals without guardians, especially those who are sick or injured, or simply abandoned/unwanted.
While they don’t have the funds to adopt every animal, they also help with finding new homes through their adoption program.
As a registered charity all their funds go back into the direct care and rehabilitating orphaned or sick and injured animals. They hope to educate and raise awareness of living a conscious, ethical life that excludes the exploitation of animals through tours, social media, and outreach programs.
Come meet some of the crew at their stall at this years expo – support them by buying some merch (they’ll be selling new and second hand books, sanctuary t-shirts, raffle tickets and various sanctuary merchandise!) or find out about how you can get involved as a volunteer! Free the Bears was formed by Perth grandmother Mary Hutton after learning of moon bears suffering in bile farms. Since then, Free The Bears has helped rescue & rehabilitate over 950 endangered bears.
As well as caring for hundreds of rescued sun and moon bears across their sanctuaries in Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam, Free The Beads also help protect wild bears through education and research.

The Captain Paul Watson Foundation is a public charity whose purpose is to support, intervene, educate, and raise awareness regarding Ocean conservation.
The foundation’s namesake, Captain Paul Watson, is a marine wildlife conservation and environmental activist; he was a founding member and director of Greenpeace, which he left in 1977 and founded the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society. The Captain Paul Watson Foundation is the next iteration of legacy – established as a continuation of his steadfast vision to focus on the protection and conservation of the Ocean through direct intervention supported by education, documentation, research activities and partnerships with other NGOs, governments and international institutions like the United Nations.
FARM TRANSPARENCY PROJECT

Farm Transparency Project (FTP) is a non-profit animal protection charity, dedicated to ending the abuse and exploitation of animals in farms, slaughterhouses and other commercial settings. Through comprehensive investigations, documentary films, and the creation of innovative tools and resources, FTP seeks to force industry transparency and educate consumers by shining a light on the brutal reality endured by animals in the name of profit.
The Farm Transparency Team will also be presenting in the workshop area over the weekend.

The Plant Based Treaty urges individuals, groups, businesses and cities to endorse their call to action and put pressure on national governments to negotiate an international Plant Based Treaty as a companion to the UNFCCC Paris Agreement.
The treaty would put food systems at the heart of combating the climate crisis, aiming to halt the widespread degradation of critical ecosystems caused by animal agriculture, to promote a shift to more healthy, sustainable plant-based diets and to actively reverse damage done to planetary functions, ecosystem services and biodiversity.
